Pair of Art Nouveau Silver Plated Vases with Stylized Female Figures

About the Item

This matched pair of silver plated vases each depicting a stylized robed female with outstretched arms were mostly likely made in France, although are unmarked. The arms function as handles for the vases and the bodies of the women are quite pronounced from these vessels. As presented, these vases are very ornately cast with strong details in the Art Nouveau style and have fitted brass inserts. The vases both have small holes drilled through the base which may have been done at some point to convert them to lamps. The vases retain their original patina and present as having almost a 'gun metal' finish.
