About the Item

Scarce pair of vintage Italian Mid-Century Modern Italica ARS large hand-turned Fine pottery vases. Bright atomic red glaze with wide rim on tapered body, ending in circular foot, marked Italica ARS underfoot. Circa 1955-1965, Italy. This particular pair of Italica ARS pottery is rare, highly sought after and hard to find, especially still together as a pair, as most have been separated over the years. Dimensions: (approx) Largest: 11" height, 9.5" diameter opening, 5.75" diameter base Smallest: 9.5" high, 9" diameter opening, 5" diameter base These vases were hand-turned by potters working for Italica Ars. This pottery company began in the early 1900’s but in 1948 it became a cooperative of 24 potters. They were located in Lastra a Signa, a province of Florence in Tuscany. The company was liquidated in 2009. Throughout the years it's grown a large following. Italica Ars Fine Italian pottery is considered very high quality and was only sold through high-end stores such as Nordstrom. Its beauty will complement your home while being a good investment.
