Pair of "Paniers de Crabes" Majolica Vases, France, circa 1900

About the Item

Enchanting and amusing pair of pleasingly rotund Barbotine vases, representing crabs forming a ring around woven baskets. The inspiration is taken from the French expression "un panier de crabes", the English translation of which is something like "a nest of vipers".
