This sophisticated handmade ceramic vase features a simple silhouette and contemporary decorations that were applied by hand. Part of a limited edition of 50 pieces, this vase features a white finish with abstract black decorations and touches of real gold leaf that brighten its surface with a precious glow of warm light. Alone or paired with other pieces from the Palma series, this object is a magnificent example of modern decoration.

    Born in Melrose, Ohio in 1922, Clyde Burt would go on to become a major voice in American studio ceramics. He studied at Fort Wayne Art School and later at the Cape Cod School of Art before landing at the Cranbrook Academy of Art to study under Maija Grotell.
