Danish Symbolic Lion Ashtray in Bronze, 1940s

About the Item

A commemorative piece after a famous Danish painting by Jeppe Madsen-Ohlsen. Its front depicts the Isted Lion and in the background the church of Broager and Dybbøl Mølle / mill seen. The symbolism comes in via the broken chain in the front. Fully marked to its hand-hammered backside. Measurements: 14x11x1.2 cm.
