19th Century French Iron Seventy Two-Bottle Wine Cellar Rack Cage from Burgundy

About the Item

Decorate a wine cellar with this exquisite antique wine storage cabinet with wall mounted brackets. Forged in the Burgundy region of France and rectangular in shape, the open cage built with iron strap construction, features a large hinged door with working padlock. When opened, the cabinet reveals 9 rows, each row accommodating up to 8 bottles, for a total of 72 bottles! The wine rack is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns the original patinated rust painted finish. Key and lock included; a great way to keep your expensive bottles safe and secure! The French wine region of Burgundy (aka “Bourgogne”) may be small in size, but its influence is huge in the world of vino. The complexity of Burgundy can cast fear into the heart of even a seasoned wine pro, but fear not - the region need only be as complicated as you want it to be. Yes, it is home to some of the most expensive wines in the known universe, but there are also tasty and affordable wines. Located in the east-central part of France, Burgundy has 5 primary wine growing areas (not including Beaujolais and Châtillonnais): Chablis, Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune, Côte Chalonnaise, and Mâconnais. Measures: 22" W x 21.5" D x 44.5" H.

  • French Louis XV Carved Pine 18 Wine Bottles "Cave a Vin" Display Cabinet

This narrow, antique wine storage cabinet was crafted in western France using old timber. Built of pine wood, the tall and thin cabinet sits on four small scroll feet under a scalloped apron. The piece features six shelves embellished with decorative carvings and each row holds three bottles, for a total of 18. The wine storage is decorated with the words “Petrus Cave” printed on the front. The cabinet is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich walnut patina; it would make a useful addition to a kitchen or wine cellar without taking up too much room. Château Pétrus is a Bordeaux, France, wine estate located in the Pomerol appellation near its eastern border to Saint-Émilion. A small estate of just 11.4 hectares (28 acres), it produces a red wine entirely from Merlot grapes (since the end of 2010), and produces no second wine. Although the wines of Pomerol have never been classified, Pétrus is widely regarded as the outstanding wine of the appellation. Pétrus leads a duo of Pomerol estates in extreme prices, along with Le Pin, that rank consistently among the world's most expensive wines. Indeed, a 750ml bottle of Pétrus wine...
