Set of 4 Moser Oldrich Lipa "Pebbles" Whiskey Highball Crystal Glasses, 1968

About the Item

For sale is a truly stunning, contemporary set of four Moser "Pebbles" highball lead-free crystal glasses or tumblers in the Topaz colourway, designed by Czech master glassmaker, Oldrich Lipa in 1968. This gorgeous, perfectly weighted, Mid-Century designed, hand-made collection is still produced today, though these 150ml versions are no longer available. In pristine condition with “Moser” acid-stamped to the base of each glass. Oldrich Lipa Graduated from UMPRUM in Prague, where he studied in Professor Kaplicky's studio. An all-round glass artist and a successful Moser in-house designer for over 25 years, Lipa took part in the preparations for the exhibitions at the XI and XII triennial in Milan, at the World Exhibitions in Brussels in 1958 and also in Montreal in 1967, along with other prestigious international events. This highly popular collection, designed in 1968, remains modern, thanks to its minimalist design. "I always look for an idea in a glass. I try to get space into it. And music. I see things in colour, even when I'm working with pure crystal" to quote Oldrich Lipa.
