1900s Victorian English Sterling Silver Presentation Fruit Dishes

About the Item

An exceptional, fine and impressive pair of antique Victorian English sterling silver presentation fruit dishes; part of our diverse silver baskets and dishes collection. These exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver presentation dishes have an oval boat shaped form onto bracket style feet. The lower portion of fruit dishes are embellished with panels of elliptical pierced decoration bordered with embossed scrolling leaf designs. The upper portion of each piece incorporates pierced scrolling leaf decoration. Each dish is embellished with a scrolling leaf decorated border accented with flared and protruding leaf designs to either side. The applied border is incorporated into an impressive integrated scrolling handle with applied leaf ornamentation to either end. Each dish is fitted with four bracket style feet accented with impressive scrolling leaf decoration. The underside of the dish bears the registration number '20103' and retailer's mark 'Elkington & Co'. Condition: These antique fruit dishes are an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional presentation condition. The pierced and applied decoration is very sharp. Full hallmarks struck to the anterior surface of each dish are all very clear. Dimensions: Length: 33.6 cm/13.2". Width: 23 cm/9.1". Height: 14.3 cm/5.6". Total weight: 44.2 troy ounces/1375g.
