19th Century Cut Crystal and Silver Candy Dish, Signed Dupré

About the Item

Elegant candy dish in Creusot cut crystal and silver, decorated with foliage and petals. The high handles are embellished with palmettes, acanthus leaves, and the final spiral finishes in the shape of a rooster. A crown-shaped knob adorns the top of the removable lid. The candy dish rests on a square base and has four ball-shaped feet. Marked: LD for Charles Louis Dupré, a master silversmith in Paris in 1827. Ceres-Vieillard (1818-1838) mark, circa 1830 Dimensions: W 7.9 in, D 4.7in, H 9.4in. Dimensions: L 20 cm, P 12 cm, H 24 cm.
