Ruba Rombic American Art Deco Glass Bowl

Sorry, this item from Modernism Gallery has been sold.

This American art deco bowl was designed by Ruben Haley (1872 – 1933) for the Consolidated Lamp and Glass Company, art glass division of Coraopolis, Pennsylvania. The Ruba Rombic line was introduced in 1928 and only produced until 1932. With its striking cubist inspired geometric forms and vibrant colors, the Ruba Rombic line is one of the most original American glass designs of the twentieth century. This piece is the obolong bowl (also called Banana Bowl) and is in a striking “Jungle Green”. It measures 12” long and 4 1/8” high. A victim of the depression, it is estimated that less than 1500 pieces of Ruba Rombic survive.
