Vintage Earthenware Serving Bowl or Centerpiece by Giovanni De Simone, Italy
About the Item
Made in Italy, 1960s.
These pieces are made in hand modeled and glazed earthenware.
They can both be used as centerpieces or as serving bowls, particularly for pasta.
As a matter of fact there are two recipes written on them, "salsa delle Eolie" (Eolie's sauce) and "pasta con le sarde alla siciliana" (Sicilian pasta with sardines).
They are marked on the bottom "De Simone 64 ( probably referring to the year 1964) and the other one De Simone Cefalù (which is a splendid antique city near Palermo).
They are vintage pieces, therefore they might show slight traces of use, but they can be both considered as in excellent original condition.
The height difference is due to the handmade process.
