Early 20th century French Beech and Metal Butcher Block, 1900s
About the Item
Rare piece! Magnificent butcher block dating from the beginning of the 20th century in beech and standing wooden top allowing it to be scraped both vertically and horizontally (to remove fat).
Two cast iron ox heads adorn the upper part. A metal plate is attached to be able to magnetize knives and utensils. Two large drawers with shell-shaped brass handles.
Two doors at the bottom hinge and slide and close as a plinth.
The tray is in good condition even if it shows some deformation due to the butcher's work.
Exceptional piece to take place in a beautiful kitchen.
