20th Century Angelo Mangiarotti Pair of Centerpieces for Gracchi in Wood, 80s

About the Item

Angelo Mangiarotti was a very important italian architect and designer, born in 1921 in Milan. He studied architecture at the Politecnico of Milan and gratuated in 1948. He then went to the US for a short period of time where he had the chance to meet Frank Lloyd Wright, Walter Gropius and Mies van der Rohe, who were crucial to his own growth and style development. Here we have a pair of centerpieces in wood made by Angelo Mangiarotti in 80s for Gracchi, whose original label is still stuck on the bottom as shown in photos. They could be used as a pair of decorative objects one upon the other, or as a vide-poche, whatever you prefer. The bigger one measures 5 x 53 cm; the smaller 10 x 41 cm. Good condition despite the inevitable patina of time. Fully original.
