Antique Signed Vienna Style Porcelain Hand Painted Cabinet Plate after H. Zatzka

About the Item

A very fine antique Vienna style porcelain cabinet plate. Entitled "Eingeheimer Auftrag", which translates in English as "A Secret Assignment". Depicted in the central cartouche is an image of a young woman being attended to by a cherub/putti. The woman is seated at the edge of a garden and appears to be making a request of the cherub who is leisurely perched on the rail fence with a pensive look. Signed to the lower right 'H. Zutzka'. The rim of the bowl is richly decorated with two-toned raised gold decoration and gold jeweling on a light blue to turquoise ground. Simply a top shelf antique cabinet plate! Date: Early 20th Century Overall Condition: It is in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. Condition Details: There are some tiny spots of loss to the gold jeweling here & there and some minor rubbing to the gilding. There are a few noticeable scratches in the left side of the center of the plate, and a small firing flaw at the top of the scene that's painted over with a leaf. Otherwise, there are some very fine & light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age.
