Copeland Spode English 'Patricia' Chintz Floral Transferware Dinner Plates, S/6
About the Item
A set of six dinner plates in the floral ‘Patricia’ pattern, Copeland Spode, England, circa 1912-1940.
Often referred to as the ‘Rose Chintz’ pattern, showing a complex sheet transfer of a multi-colored floral on a black stippled ground. Hand painted red, orange, blue, pink, and yellow vining flowers are set against a pattern of fine dots and floral outlines. The mold is swirled from the rim towards the center, the rims are deeply fluted with a painted dark marigold orange edge.
Marked: Copeland Spode, England, Patricia, Rd. No. 596271. Impressed makers marks and the red iron oxide number of the painter.
Measures: 10.5 in. diameter x 1 in. height.
Offered as a set of six, two sets of six are available.
