Piero Fornasetti porcelain gilt seashell porcelain plates, Conchyliorum pattern, Set of six plates, circa 1950s. The set of plates with a gilt ground and each beautifully decorated with a different large named seashell in black and white. The named seashells include Buccina Tortilla, Rhombus Stryatus, Buccinum Magnum, Pecten Variegatus, Buccinum Horridum, Pectuntulus Adriaticus. Dimensions: 10 1/4 inches diameter x 1 inch high. Mark: Each with the typical paintbrush and hand above Fornasetti. Milano an a seashell with the name of the pattern Conchyliorum below. All over a green undermark with a crown and H & Co. Below a gold 4 over 11. The green under mark for Heinrich & Co. Selb Bavaria. Reference: Fornasetti: The Complete Universe, Barnaba Fornasetti, Page 609, #141, for three from a set of six, 1950s.
