About the Item
Majolica is a pottery that was started in England by the Minton Company, 1851. The pottery quickly became popular and several other companies popped up throughout the UK and other countries. Majolica was made until about 1900. Due to the lead in the glaze, majolica has remained bright and vibrant. Wedgwood became one of three largest Majolica companies.
