Antique Glass Bowl With Pewter Foot - Ruby Glass- 19-20 centuries

About the Item

The body of the bowl was made of tin alloy. A wide glass bowl or plate was used to display fruit or other goodies. The top glass in the shape of a tall, narrow flower serves as a vase. Both glass pieces have cut edges. The glass parts are made of clear glass and overlay with ruby glass. The glass is cut and everything is complemented by a gold painting with a wine grape motif. It is an impressive example of the mastery of our ancient glassmakers. The glass is fixed to the base with a central screw that comes out of the narrow vase base. The combination of darker pewter alloy and luxurious, hand-crafted glass is very impressive. Beautiful condition with no damage.
