Clear Bubble Glass Decanter Signed Julio Santos 1970s Hand Blown Brutalist

About the Item

Australian-Portuguese glass artist Julio Santos was an expert in his craft. This decanter is a lovely example of his work. Signed 'J. Santos' to the base and in excellent condition. Santos died just a few years ago, leaving a legacy of over 50 years consistent production in fine decorative glass in Australia. Santos' hand-blown and often signed pieces have remained collectable throughout his career. Now, the significance of his work is coming fully into view, as we newly appreciate the stylistic and textural qualities of 1970s and 1980s design.
