Kaj Frank, Pair of Decanters "Kremlin kellot", Nuutajärvi

About the Item

Minimalistic functional beauty. Designed in the mid 50s, these delicate decorative decanters by Kaj Franck perfectly reflect his school of thought in bringing functionality through beauty to every day items while emphasising minimalism and frugality. However, and as usual with Franck and his glass designs, the one thing he did not use conservatively was colour. Made in three stackable parts, this juice decanter was designed with saving space and materials in mind, with the bottom part meant for water to dilute the juice stored in the middle part. The cork was just the cherry on the top for this much sought after masterpiece in glass design. The total height is 35cm. The height of the bottom part is 20cm. The middle section is 15cm and the diameter of the cap is 5 cm. Some signs of normal wear and use.
