Tiffany Studios Favrille Glass Pigtail Prunt Decanter, Early 20th Century, USA

About the Item

A wonderful Tiffany Studios favrile glass decanter and stopper with pigtail design, Art Nouveau period, early 20th century, United States. The transparent glass with a wonderful subtle iridescence that plays beautifully with changes in the light. The tall decanter of typical form, with a bulbous, globular body and elegant, long, thin neck. The decanter is graciously topped with the original stopper. The body of the decanter decorated with scattered "pigtail" prunts, allowing a firm grip. The heavy stopper sitting high above the decanter and of onion dome form. The stopper also decorated with "pigtail" prunts. Signed in etch with L.C.T. (for Louis Comfort Tiffany) mark and number to the base of the decanter. The stopper with an etched number 18 to the underside. Ex. Christie's, NY
