Very Fine & Unusual George IV Mug Made in London in 1821 by Emes & Barnard

About the Item

The mug is modeled in the unusual Campana form and stands on a circular pedestal foot decorated with a band of foliate motifs. The main body rises to an everted rim and displays a raised crisp band of trailing roses on a matted ground. The handle is beautifully modeled as a serpent coiled around a branch. The mug displays a gilded interior and is fully marked on the side of the main body.  Measures: Height 3.1 inches, 7.75cm. Diameter at the rim 2.5 inches, 6.25cm. Weight 5oz.
