English EPBM Sheffield Silver Salt Cellar with Blue Glass Insert

About the Item

An English, Sheffield silver made salt cellar with cobalt blue removable glass insert. Marked on the edge JD&S (James Dixon & Son grounded 1806 as Dixon & Smith c.) and EPBM (Electro Plated Britania Metal). The trumpet and banner was registered in 1879 and this salt cellar is most probably made circa 1920s.
