Large A.D. Copier Unica Charger/Footed Bowl

About the Item

Nice example of Copier's expertise in controlled bubble decoration. Cobalt blue bubble inclusions create a lunar-like terrain throughout this shallow bowl on applied pedestal base. Examples from the Unica series are all one-of-a-kind hand blown by Copier himself, and are considered the highest level of glass arts that the Netherlands produced, matching the skill of the best Venetian studios. Signed to the underside "AD Copier Unica AAB" which dates this to 1948.
