Large Low Ceramic Serving Bowl, Carved Brown Clay with White Glaze, Hand Built
About the Item
An updated serving bowl reminiscent of midcentury Danish Decorative Arts. This 14.5 inch wide bowl has subtle hand carved oval designs on the exterior bare clay. The deep brown clay is enlivened with natural speckling. A rich white glaze finishes the interior. Fully hand made from stoneware clay.
Signed with artist's signature and signature chop on the bottom.
Hand washing recommended.

Helena Starcevic Ceramics
Helena Starcevic Ceramics produces work that straddles the line between fine and decorative art. Each piece is one of a kind, hand-built entirely by the artist in her New York studio. Taking inspiration from the natural world, Ms. Starcevic's work includes references to the stark beauty of the desert, prehistoric cave paintings, and the human form (within and without). Everything is filtered through Ms. Starcevic’s own singular aesthetic, at once quiet yet strong, meditative, and beautiful. Pieces are made in different clays and finishes, and at different scales. Groupings are available. Helena Starcevic’s ceramic pieces are held in private collections across the US and Europe. She has held numerous residencies including one at the Museum of Art and Design in New York City.
