Longwy French Mid-Century Enameled Ceramic Wall Platter, Limited Edition, 1950s
About the Item
French Mid-century enameled ceramic wall platter by Manufacture de Longwy, France, 1950s. From the 1950s, in the footsteps of Jean Touret and the Ateliers de Marolles, and in opposition to the industrial furniture of young designers, France experienced a return to its medieval, rustic and peasant roots. There were the pros and the anti-industrials. Moreover, these different pieces of furniture, as well as the associated decorative objects, blend together in the interiors to give a typically French style. Longwy does not fail to join this movement and here is an example. Decor named Les Semailles (Sowing) and enameled by Albert Kirchtetter. Measures: Diameter: 10.6"(37cm), Height: 3"(4cm). Limited edition (18 of 200). 1950 Longwy stamp.
