Mari Simmulson - Decorative Plate

About the Item

Product Description: This item has been designed by Mari Simmulson for Upsala Ekeby. Before moving to Upsala Ekeby, Mari worked for Arabia and Gustavsberg respectively. In between the two different employers she studied sculpture in Munich but had to leave the country and her family behind due to the outbreak of the second world war. Her work has a more mature feel to it than the work of other designers of her time. Whereas her work is not less imaginative than Lisa Larson's, it radiates more strength and less softness. The plate has been series-produced and is not unique, there are not a lot on the market these days. The plate can be used to present food on but would be suited to function as a purely decorative item as well. Product Condition: There are no significant impurities to mention, the item is in a very good condition. Weight: 1770 gram.
