Matching Pair of Large Antique Brightly Polished Pewter Chargers

About the Item

2 great highly polished pewter chargers. Measure: (18 inches). English, late 18th century The same ownership inscription on the front rim of both of them. Rubbed touch marks on the underside. Probably a London maker. The pewter has been polished to its original shine to imitate polished silver. It was known as the Poor Man's Silver. The great thing about polished pewter is that it will retain its shine unlike silver which tarnishes. It can be cleaned with soap and water. The price is for the pair.
