"Sqaure Town" Storage tray in maple and blue leather by Atelier C.u.b

Sophie Gailliot and Richard Pontais are two Montreal artisans/designers who formed Atelier C.u.b in 2017. Their work circulates freely between art and design highlighting a craft know-how. Their creations tell and are inspired by stories. Stories of travel, dreamlike atmospheres, encounters. Noble materials, clean lines and contrasts give their furniture a unique, contemporary and warm character. They willingly assume the use of vibrant colors that they define as a certain remedy to melancholy and a call to conviviality. Their work has been presented at Wanted Design Manhattan in 2018, Interior design Show in Toronto in 2019. They also take part in several exhibitions such as the Exhibition on Contemporary Quebec Leather Goods at the Lab-Design of the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts and at La guilde in Montreal. The duo, who learned their skills during their training and then from other craftsmen in cabinetmaking, leather goods and studies in platic arts, now combine their know-how. With their complementary skills, they express through their creations a common vision, the result of their respective backgrounds, passions and influences.
