Hall Pâte-Sur-Pâte Serving Pieces with British Scenery, circa 1800

About the Item

Three English new Hall Pâte-sur-pâte serving pieces with British scenery. Each has a raised floral boarder in blue and white trimmed with gilt accents. The scenes include Windsor Castle, Bush Kill Park and View from Greenwich to Stepford. Newhall porcelain was in business in Shelton, Staffordshire England from 1781-1835. Pâte-sur-pâte is a French term meaning "paste on paste". It is a method of porcelain decoration in which a relief design is created on an unfired, unglazed body by applying successive layers of white porcelain slip (liquid clay) with a brush. The two oval serving pieces measure 9.25" W x 7.25" H x 1.25" H and the round 8.5" D x 1" H N.P. Trent has been a respected name in antiques for over 30 years with a large collection of period furniture, art and decorative accessories.
