Meissen charger with decoration a flower Bunches, Marcolini period Ca. 1800 This large Meissen Charger is decorated with a stylized bouquets of flowers that distinguished Meissen porcelain among other decorations. The first workshop and the "Royal Porcelain Factory" were established in 1710, inside the Albrechtsburg castle owned by the ruler of Meissen, to make hard porcelain. From 1774 to 1814 the artistic director was Camillo Marcolini-Ferretti, who added a star to the two crossed swords in the brand of the manufacture, starting the "Marcolini brand"; the period of his direction was also an era of great artistic quality of Meissen porcelain
