A fine and unusual Chinese Export blue and white decorated porcelain leaf-shaped dish or charger, Qianlong Period, mid 18th century, circa 1760, China. The dish or charger of intriguing leaf-shaped form, with serated edges, and set upon a short foot. The shape seemingly based on a Meissen design. The porcelain decorated with a courting scene of a couple in a garden setting. They are surrounded by flowering bushes and trees. Butterflies draw nectar from the flowers, while dragonflies flit above. In the foreground are a pair of very plump quail. Decorated in underglaze blue enamel on a white ground, the blue and white decoration actually is based an Kakiemon pattern of the same period. So in short, we have a Chinese porcelain piece based on a German Meissen form...

Elegant circa 1790 Nanking Chinese porcelain hand painted blue and white tureen in excellent condition, no repairs.

  Decorated with an elegant design of delicate blue cornflower sprigs, this soup tureen was made by Arras Porcelain in Arras, France, in the late 18th century. The cornflower sprigs, handles, and border edging are decorated with beautiful deep twilight blue enamel. The makers of Arras Porcelain specialized in porcelain painted in this entrancing blue called "Bleu d'Arras." The color of the porcelain body is creamy white. The combination of the creamy white ground and the blue decoration is splendid. Natural forms like the tree branch handle and the blue cornflower decorations were the height of French fashion in the last quarter of the 18th century. Made at the Arras porcelain factory of the Delemers family circa 1780, the tureen and its stand are marked in underglaze blue.
