Early 17th century Hispano Moresque bowl with copper glaze, from Spain. Hispanic Moresque earthenware has an Islamic style created by the Moors produced under Christian rule, merging the Islamic and Europeans elements into the artistic decoration. The Moors were expelled from Spain in the early 17th century, yet the style continued, especially in the Valencia area.
