Midcentury Italian Fantoni Attributed Classical Design Art Pottery Jug

About the Item

A stylish vintage Italian art pottery jug decorated with a classical figure playing a Lyre harp and attributed to Fantoni. The elegantly shaped jug stands on a narrow rounded foot with an oval shaped bulbous body short slender neck and shaped pouring spout with a coiled raised handle. The jug is hand painted in orange with marbling to the body and is applied with gilded designs and a seated figure with the customary 'scratch' highlights. The jug has a bright orange glazed base and is not marked. Offered in excellent original condition with slight age dulling to some of the gilding.
