Vintage Japanese Studio Pottery Stoneware Insect Design Vase, Signed
About the Item
An unusual vintage Japanese studio pottery vase decorated with stylized insects and signed to base. The bulbous stoneware vase stands on a flat unglazed base and is decorated in brown glazes with a band of insects which appear to have been incised with the bodies carved out as opposed to wax resist. The vase has an incised signature to the base which we have been unable to identify.
