19th Century Neoclassical Figurative Silver Plate & Cut Crystal Decanter Set

About the Item

This elegant and regal fitted silver plate and cut crystal decanter set was realized in England during the 19th century. It features a cylindrical base replete with an abundance of neoclassical details in relief. The lowest band of the base offers stylized laurel boughs, urns with pluming acanthus leaves and other foliate motifs. The central band offers seraphs gathering wheat with their mothers, while the top band features curvilinear recurring braided patterns reminiscent of Celtic knots. The base hold four decanters in cut crystal with a beautifully chamfered stopper. The Celtic knot motif recurs on the neck of each of the decanters. With its exquisite attention to detail and clean modernist lines, this set promises to add more than a touch of sophistication to any bar setting regardless of the style of decor. It is in excellent vintage condition. England, 19th century Dimensions: 13.5"H X 5.5" Diameter.
