Very Fine Pewter Ecuelle or Lidded Porringer, 18th Century

About the Item

Very fine Pewter Ecuelle or lidded porringer, 18th century, continental, possibly swiss or north eastern France. Profusely decorated lid with stylized fruits and flowers, scroll shaped handles engraved with double initials "C S G K" and dated 1785 on lid and on the bottom Pewterers touch mark. The porringer measures 5 1/2"-inches in diameter x 3"-inches high.
