19th Century Silver Plate Golfing Candelabra Trophy / Centre Piece

About the Item

A fine quality late 19th-early 20th century silver plate centrepiece with central column and three foliate arms with leaf mounted holders supporting three etched cut glass bowls and a large top glass bowl on a foliate bordered triangular base with three individual figures in various golfing poses, underside stamped 'P. T. & Co. Sheffield The glass bowls can be removed making this piece functional as a candelabra. Measures: Width 17.5", depth 17.5", height 22".

    This is a truly magnificent and highly distinguished pair of antique Victorian silver-plated five-light, four branch table candelabra by the renowned silversmiths Elkington & Co, Birmingham, bearing the Elkington mark with date letter for 1873. Each of these splendid candelabra features a stunning fluted stem with Corinthian Capital cast socket and detachable arms with four foliage cast branches, each terminating in a tapering socket with a further central socket.
