Antique Reed & Barton Silver Plated Tureen with Lion Head Mounts & Medallions

About the Item

This antique tureen was made by the well known Reed & Barton Company of England and dates to approximately 1880 and done in the period Victorian style. This large egg shaped tureen is made of silver plate with stylized rope handles and lion head mounts. The sides are decorated with engraved scrollwork to accent the applied madallion on either side. The tureen sits on four elaborate stylized leaf legs and is clearly signed with the Reed & Barton maker's marks on the bottom.
