Pair of Antique Silver Plated Dixon & Sons Sheffield Covered Entree Servers

About the Item

This pair of antique silver plated covered entree servers was made in Sheffield England by the James Dixon and Sons Company in circa 1880 in the period Victorian style. Each server has a heavy footed base with a shallow insert, followed by a serving dish and a raised lid with a removable handle. These oval shaped silver plated servers are nicely decorated with beading around the perimeter of each lid which is replicated on all three handles of each server. The feet are ornately cast as are the supports for the handles on either side of these well constructed antique silver plated covered entree dishes.
