Exceptional and rare travel vanity set five pieces in sterling silver, including a hand mirror, two brushes for clothes and two hairbrushes. Each ornately decorated in neoclassical styling with ribbons and garlands of laurels pattern. This complete set will is with its very beautiful original green case decorated with flowers and with compartments for each piece. Art Nouveau period. Head of Minerve 1st titre for 950/1000 French sterling silver. Prestigious silversmith: Alphonse Debain. 79 rue du Temple - Paris, he was active in March 19, 1884. Patterns of Alphonse Debain were acquired by the prestigious silversmith Emile Puiforcat (Herme`s) that perpetuates today the heritage of excellence of this silversmith. Measures: 10.24 (26.7 cm) hand mirror. 8.66 (22.7 cm) hairbrush. 7.09 (18.7 cm) brushes for clothes. 6.69 (17.7 cm) hairbrush. Total weight with original case: 2530 grams. The condition is very good for this set. The hand-mirror is intact. Overall, this service seems to have been little used. A master silversmith made a complete cleaning and polishing. The original box is in very good exterior condition (picture n°8) but it shows some signs of its age inside, some spots on the fabric (picture n°1 & 2), it is remains in great shape, the age considered.
