American Coin Silver '.900' Cup/Mug on Pedestal Base by Bailey & Co.

About the Item

American Coin Silver (.900) cup/mug on pedestal base, Bailey and Company, Philadelphia, circa 1846-1878. Decorated with country cabins in the woods. Bead work decorates the upper rim of the mug. Inscription in the cartouche reads - Little Mary. Measures 4 inches high at highest point (top of handle) x 3 1/2 inches high (to top of opening mug) x 4 3/4 wide from outer edge of handle to outer edge of mug x 3 1/8 inches diameter across opening. Weighs 4.290 troy ounces. Dark areas on silver in photos are reflections. In very good antique condition.

The surface of each solid silver mug is encircled with two fine and impressive broad bands of tooled decoration, in addition to the contemporary bright cut engraved crest of a spur erect between two wings.
