Antique Cut Glass and Sterling Silver Cocktail Shaker

An exceptional, fine and impressive antique George V English sterling silver and cut glass cocktail shaker; an addition to our wine and drinks related silverware collection
This exceptional antique George V English cut glass and sterling silvercocktail shaker has a tapering cylindrical form.
The glass body of this exceptional cocktail shaker is embellished with cut glass decoration, incorporating diamond motifs to the upper and lower portions and a fluted band to the centre.
The vessel is further ornamented with an impressive cut glass star motif to the underside.
This antique glass cocktail shaker retains the original hallmarked sterling silver mount and detachable push fit stopper.
The antique silver mount bears the contemporary engraved inscription 'Seascale Gold Club, 1928, Mixed Foursome, V. W. Maxwell'.
The exceptional cover/stopper bears the patent details 'EDRU' and 'PAT. NO 258461'.
Such sterling silver examples are becoming increasingly difficult to locate.

This antique glass cocktail shaker is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.
The shaker has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition.
Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the mount, in addition to part hallmarks to the stopper are all very clear.

These magnificent and large antique George V English sterling silver bowls/centrepieces have a compressed circular form onto a knopped pedestal and domed circular foot. The plain body of each piece is encircled with an impressive band of applied and chased olive leaf festoon decoration consisting of overlapping leaf designs with a bead motif to subdivision. Both sides of each piece is further ornamented with exceptional and large applied vacant cartouche bordered with a ribbon tied oak and olive branch, in addition to a scrolling and leaf motif to the upper portion. The upper portions of these concaved cartouches are subtly elevated and joined to the moulded decoration to the shaped rim. These antique silver bowls are fitted with impressive and large Art Nouveau style scrolling handles with plain plateaued upper portions and subtle thumbpieces.
