Antique Georgian Newcastle Sterling Silver Coffee Pot

An exceptional, fine and impressive antique George II Newcastle sterling silver coffee pot, an addition to our Georgian silver teaware collection. This exceptional antique George II Newcastle sterling silver coffee pot has a baluster shaped form onto a circular domed spreading foot. One side of the body of this 18th century coffee pot is embellished with an engraved stemmed floral and scrolling leaf decorated cartouche displaying a coat of arms quarterly with a bend. The surface of the body in junction with the handle sockets and spout are ornamented with a rounded, scalloped panels of flat chased decoration, incorporating floral designs and equidistant alternating shell motifs. The body is further encircled with an applied molded border to the upper rim. The antique coffee pot retains the original domed hinged cover surmounted with an impressive cast sterling silver acorn style finial. The cover is encircled with two bands of flat chased simplified floral designs, accented with shell motifs and matte textures. This Newcastle antique silver coffee pot has an opposing scroll wood handle featuring a plain scrolling thumbpiece and fitted to an impressive cast silver scrolling lower terminal and leaf ornamentation to the upper socket. This antique coffee pot has an impressive cast sterling silver swan necked spout embellished with scroll leaf motif decorated finger pieces, in addition to a scrolling motif to the lip. Condition This antique coffee pot is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional presentation condition. The cast and flat chased decoration is all very sharp and the engraved ornamentation is very crisp. The handle has been polished by a cabinet maker. The interior of the coffee pot has been professionally cleaned and is ready for use. The hallmarks struck to the underside of the coffee pot are all very clear. Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this Newcastle antique silver coffee pot. This exceptional antique George V sterling silver cafe au lait set consists of a coffee pot and hot milk jug. Each piece of this cafe au lait set has a plain baluster shaped form to three feet, all in the early George II style. The surface of each piece is plain and unembellished, accented with an applied moulded border to the upper rim. Each piece is fitted with the original hallmarked domed hinged cover surmounted by an impressive cast silver pineapple finial; each cover retains the original hallmarked, detachable hinge pin. Both the milk jug and coffee pot retains the original opposing scroll carved wood handle, fitted to cast and applied scrolling sockets. The coffee pot features an exceptional cast silver swan necked spout ornamented with an undulating socket, the sparrow beak spout to the milk jug is ornamented with a decorative leaf formation to the nadir. Each piece is supported by three impressive cast sterling silver feet ornamented with a scrolling foot to a shell design in junction with the body.
