About the Item

An Antique late Victorian sterling silver bachelor teapot with engravings inspired by David Teniers. David Teniers was a Dutch Baroque painter (1610-1690).  He was an innovator in a wide range of genres. Teniers is particularly known for developing the peasant genre and the tavern scene. Which is exactly what is depicted with rich, sharp and repousse engravings on this teapot, the scenery includes, a violin player, people drinking, dancing, socialising, romance, vivid plants and architecture. Maker: John Septimus Beresford Made in London 1881 Fully hallmarked. Dimensions: Length 17.5 cm Width 10 cm Height 15 cm Weight: 473 grams Condition: General wear and tear, excellent overall condition.
