Antique Victorian Sterling Silver Wick Trimmers

About the Item

An exceptional, fine and impressive pair of antique Victorian English sterling silver wick trimmers; an addition to our silver flatware collection. This exceptional pair of antique Victorian sterling silver wick trimmers has a hinged scissor action. The domed anterior surface of these impressive candle wick trimmer scissors is embellished with applied scrolling leaf ornamentation, accented with a leaf decorated rosette to the pivoting hinge. The two opposing scroll handles are ornamented with further scrolling leaf decoration. The posterior surface is plain and unembellished, supported by three pillar style legs with bun style feet. Condition These antique silver wick trimming scissors are an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional presentation condition. The applied decoration is all very sharp. Full hallmarks struck to the interior of the domed portion and hinged blade, in addition to part hallmark to the anterior surface of one handle are all very clear. Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this example of antique silverware.
