About the Item

Impressive hallmarked sterling silver Elizabeth II English owl salt and pepper set, made by Richard Comyns - London 1960. Modelled as standing owls with wonderful detailed plumage, very finely cast, and ornamented with original bead eyes. The pull-off lids in the shape of heads are each pierced for salt and pepper. The inner covers are partially hallmarked with Lion Passant and date letter e. The owls are in very good condition and have a lovely tactile feel and are weighty in the hand. No damage to the glass eyes. 212grams.
