Modern Silver Gilt Surtout De Table Designed by Barber & Osgerby for Mallett

About the Item

Titled "Cidade" due to its futuristic cityscape design, commissioned by renowned antiques firm Mallett for their contemporary Meta Collection and conceived and created by the design duo Barber and Osgerby, responsible, among other items, for the London 2012 Olympic torch, this candle laden ‘Surtout de Table’ is reminiscent of the tradition of the 18th century favoured by Louis XIV, where silver candlesticks were used in number on a polished silver base to multiply the candlelight.
