Pair of Silver Cufflinks, Signed Mecan and Goldsmiths Hallmarks, circa: 1970

About the Item

Very nice pair of men's cufflinks, in silver with a thousandth grade of 835 - 20 carats. Very elegant and refined, their round shapes and worked in the background of very beautiful high-end accessories. Period: 20th century circa: 1970 Signed: MECAN Hallmarks: "835" and silversmith. Male elegance is made in beautiful clothes, but it also goes through the details and jewelry, especially since these gentlemen wear less than these ladies. However, men's jewelry is not limited to watches and bracelets. Men wear chains, necklaces or even rings, but if there is one small accessory that represents style and masculine elegance, it is undoubtedly the cufflink. A bit obsolete towards the end of the 20th century, cufflinks have been making a big comeback in the male wardrobe for the past fifteen years. They were mainly used in certain business settings and for special occasions like weddings. Today, the accessory has been rejuvenated and brings the musketeer shirt (French cuff) up to date by allowing men to stand out by wearing this jewel in various shapes and metals.

The caliper was closed by pulling on the two runners. The simple cord, attached at its ends to the upper edge of the bag, allowed it to be opened and passed through the metal stirrup. Portor is a very rare marble that has been used in Italy and Corsica since Antiquity.  It is characterised by a dark black colour with a very yellow vein, a sort of golden sinuosity.  It seems that it owes its name to the town of Porto Venere on the coast of Genoa, where Louis XIV had the quarries exploited for the decoration of Versailles.  This marble was widely used in the 17th, 18th and 20th centuries, particularly for Art Deco creations, on beautiful furniture, objets d'art and fireplaces.   Description Period: Art Deco  Circa: 1930 Dimensions : Total height : 20,5cm                        Bronze height : 17,5cm                       Base dimensions : Height : 3cm x Width : 9cm x Depth : 6,5cm Signature : M.
