Set of 6 Sterling Silver Figural Japanese Coffee Sugar Spoons with Fitted Case

About the Item

This boxed set of six figural silver souvenir of the Imperial Hotel coffee or espresso spoons were made by the Okubo Brothers of Japan in approximately 1950 in an Anglo-Japanese style. The top of each spoon is done with a figural symbol of the Japanese culture and the rick-shaw has moving wheels. The stems of the spoons are done with a bamboo styled motif with an engraved bowl. It's interesting to note that each spoon is marked with an impressed setting sun hallmark with the words "STERLING" underneath and "900". We are assuming the silver content is 925 sterling, but is at minimum 900 given the markings. Each spoon measures approximately 4 and a quarter inches and come in their original fitted case.
